I'll see you, too - Robert Currie - Naturescapes Photography Contest 2014

Hays County is a plant lover’s paradise. Alongside our beautiful grasses, trees, and shrubs there are a multitude of flowering plants and vines, many of which we cultivate as garden and landscaping plants. Many of these are edible and have valuable medicinal qualities. Some are quite rare and exist nowhere else on earth, such as the Texas Wild Rice found only in the San Marcos River. Others, like many of the wildflowers, are beloved because they are so abundant and beautiful. Throughout the Hill Country there are unique and exquisite plants to be found. Hays County abounds with parks, preserves, and greenspaces where you can discover plants. There are also world-class resources available, like the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, where you can go to learn about this amazing diversity. Your discoveries can begin in your own neighborhood. Go out and explore!
